Icon9 I am so sick to my stomach right now

And it's partly my fault! So, I bought a 1TB external hard drive in April and began using that to back up my sessions and all of my photos from my laptop (pics of dd from her first AND second year). I usually just back up my sessions after they've ordered, but I had so many sessions going at once this past weekend that my computer was slowing down, so I backed everything up to my external hard drive and removed it from my laptop to speed things up.

Last night I was using the external HD and working on some father's day projects for a friend and dh and it was working fine. Then I moved my laptop without knowing that the cords were tangled and it pulled my HD down to it fell about 3 feet to the hardwood floor. It didn't sound bad, it doesn't sound like anything is loose... NOTHING! But, when I re-attached it to the laptop it wouldn't recognize it. I got it as far as recognizing that there's new software, but then it will say that my external HD is not formatted.

I want to cry!!! I called our computer people at work and asked them and they don't sound very positive. I'm wondering if I should find someone who specializes in JUST hard drives (these guys are more computer builders and network builders and whatnot). I thought I was doing everything RIGHT by backing up dd's photos (since we lost an entire month when our desktop crashed and I didn't have them backed up). And although I know I should have waited until the customer ordered before moving her files completely... UGH!!! What makes me utterly SICK (besides dd's pictures) is that I had the maternity session of the mom who just delivered on there and she hasn't ordered yet.

Could you all please send up major prayers that they are able to recover the drive?? I have no idea what I'm going to do if it can't be!!!!!
