Default Hi girls

I know I haven't been around much. We are trying to sell our house and getting it ready has been a nightmare. Along with countless hours pouring over listings at night. Such a drag. I am also trying to put together a sample book and can't decide if I should include this one...it is rather unconventional with the duotone conversion. Should I add it? I want the book to show a variety of possibilities. Can't wait to hear your thoughts.
TIA!!!

Love it Dalia! The lighting and candidness are beautiful. I like unconventional though

What does duotone conversion mean? I have heard it used a couple times, but haven't caught on to what that means for the picture. Do you do that yourself or use an action? Care to share how its done?

I hope your house sells soon! That sounds super stressful!

I like the image, the conversion seems similiar to a yellow/blue one I have in lightroom. Has a vintagey type feel to it. I like the moodiness. Not sure about going in a sample book because I find that most parents want the happy happy smile smile type stuff.....but maybe if they see otherwise......

D!!!!!! hi
The whole moving thing is so stressful. It will be worth it in the end, but getting there...
I love this image. The duotone conversion suits it perfectly. I would absolutely include it. I wouldn't want to show only happy happy joy joy pictures in your portfolio. There are some parents who do get that it isn't all about smiles all of the time and they actually buy these types of pictures too. Along with the smile ones, of course

thanks for responding girls!!
I am going to include it...So I will have 1 or 2 "saddish" pictures and the 18-20 "happish" I want to show a bit of a range. I just realized all the pics are head shots...need to get some full body shots...yikes!
Ugh trying to move is so much work!! Hopefully things will start to move along soon.....

Amy...you can use a duotone action...this is what I did. I used a gradient map with the top color being a very navy blue and the bottom color being a very pale yellow. I little color goes a long way. It is fun to play with.

Thanks Dalia! I do use gradient map for BWs and have been learning more of its capabilities. I'm excited to now play with it this way
