Help with new lens

ok so Im really want to try a new lens. I would like something with a bit of a zoom. Im currently looking at the Sigma 24-70mm f/ 2.8. It is like $400 cheaper than the Nikon one. I was also looking at the 85mm, which I've seen some awesome work with it. If anyone has any suggestions would love to hear!
