Hello...again

Hi ladies. Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I've been a lurker *puts head down in shame*
So I have a few questions, if you don't mind me asking. A good friend of mine is pregnant and wants maternity shots. Does anyone have suggestions on lighting equipment and/or backdrops? I've seen alot of black backgrounds w/some maternity and even newborn shots. I know I have to invest in that sooner or later but what if I burned the background out? Or is that just too much? I told her right now I do natural lighting so that she doesn't expect me to come over w/loads of studio equipment.
If someone can please point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I've just got the cheapo set-up. I use black fleece and my speedlight.

If it reflects too much light I've had success just making a selective colour adjustment level, choosing the black and upping it's value.

Welcome back. I wouldn't burn the background instead of using a background. You could use a black sheet if you had to and it would be better than burning the background. You really don't have to have a backdrop. You could use her own home in the background or you could go outside.

Thanks!! I was thinking of getting a black sheet and using that for the mean time. I do want to get some shots outside too. We are moving next week and our backyard has bamboo, thought maybe that would be neat to use as well.
