Default Christmas Sessions

I'm turning into your neighborhood Wally World Christmas even before Halloween or Thanksgiving!

When do you usually aim to schedule sessions by if they want Christmas cards to send out to people? I'm thinking of October/November.

What props do you use? What backgrounds (colors, papers, scene backgrounds, outside pictures, christmas tree farms, fireplace)?

Do I need to build a faux fireplace or is that going too extreme?

I know the tri-fold cards have been a huge hit last year (maybe the previous year too). Are they still going to be?

Oh yes...the Christmas season. I dread it. Everyone in a rush to get the perfect family picture for their cards or gifts. Ugh.
Deadlines for holiday stuff will be end of Oct. this year for me. Christmas card orders must be put in by the end of Nov.
A Christmas tree farm is a great idea! I may have to use that one.
Last year I bought a Tom Arma Gingerbread costume that was soooo adorable on babies. I've used stockings, the cute ho ho hats and that type of stuff. I like using the decorated tree in the bg.

its so warm here we can do families outdoors still ... it is a little cool for babies though. I like the wrapped box for toddlers to sit in, LOVE the all white backgrounds with the faux fur blanket and some colorful christmas balls, I can never get the tree to look right but what a gorgeous bg that would make ... maybe this year I will get better at it As far as the cards go, it does seem like most peeps wait until last minute to order - blah ! So rushed. You are thinking ahead of the game girl, I am so not in the christmas spirit

I would think that Christmas CARDS would need to be ordered by mid November. Most people I know start sending them out right after Thanksgiving. Not me.

I already have 2 sessions booked in September and 1 in October specifically for Christmas pics. The problem around here is that it's still HOT until almost November, so Christmas sweaters, etc. aren't comfortable until then.
