Hi everyone! I desperately need some help with my camera and am hoping someone here can help me!
I havent posted on the photog boards before, but frequent sk and am a host on the June 07 and Feb 05 boards.
I bought an Olympus 1010 point & shoot camera a few months ago and the flash suddenly stopped working right!! Even when on ALL automatic settings (in general, for the flash and for the ISO) the flash is only working sporadically and works correctly about 20% of the time. The majority of the pictures it takes now are out of focus and either very blurry from the flash not going off or are completely white and washed out from the flash overcompensating for the indoor light. The flash works correctly for maybe one in every five pictures and I am receiving the same great quality I'm used to on those pictures - of course, I am missing the good shots of my kids now
I have
NO idea what happened - it just stopped working right one day a week or so ago! I take very good care of my cameras and know it wasn't dropped or anything. I have no idea what to do! I haven't had any luck with contacting Olympus. I can send the camera in for repair under warranty (I just have to find the receipt) but I really want to know if this is something I can just take care of myself.
Does anyone have any idea or thoughts on what might be wrong?? or how I fix this? My camera is only a couple months old and I've tried everything, including restoring it to factory settings!
and i'm just super irritated with it now because it wasnt a cheap camera and I just recently purchased it!
I posted on a few forums I found online asking for help, but dont know which forum might be best? I haven't received a reply anywhere yet. I thought maybe someone here could help me since there are so many great photographers on here!
Thank you in advance for your help and thoughts. Here is a link to my camera if anyone wants to read about it:
