Progesterone levels are stressing me out!
So my HCG level on Friday at 21 dpo was 2050 which the doctor says looks great because she was expecting 800-1000. I went to betabase and my doubling time between 11 dpo and 13 dpo was 25 hours, between 13-15 dpo it was 38 hours, and between 15-21 dpo it was 33 hours. My concern is my progesterone level. It was 47 at 11 dpo and it was 27 at 21 dpo. I googled decreasing progesterone levels and everything I found said decreasing progesterone is NEVER normal even with rising hcg levels so now I'm freaked out. My first thought is that maybe the same thing is happening that happened when I was pregnant with Max, that initially I had twins and now I don't. I won't know for certain until my u/s on Friday. I swear all this waiting is torture! It is definitely going to be a very long 9 months!!! Has anyone else ever had progesterone levels checked while they were pregnant? Did they always increase? I'd love any input you can find or any personal stories. Anyway, I will keep you all posted on any new developments.

Re: Progesterone levels are stressing me out!
I'm pretty sure they are happy with anything over 20. Not sure about the decreasing levels. I usually take progesterone suppositories while PG. And you may never know about the twin thing unfortunately. I had that happen once as well. Your betas sound wonderful.

Re: Progesterone levels are stressing me out!
Mine dropped after the initial surge, and my doctors dont agree with giving progesterone suppositories, in fact, they rarely even keep an eye on progesterone levels . I had to request it with my hcg, and then i wished i hadnt because it was dropping. Originally it was almost fifty, and then, it dropped down to 19.
I thought maybe I originally had two eggies start off and that maybe one reabsorbed (there was a 'spot' they referred to in my early u/s and the dr mentioned sumthing about it)
After it hit 19, my dr wouldnt do any more progesterone tests. My hcg was good and high and he said that the hcg helps to keep the corpus luteum secreting the progesterone and as long as hcg levels were good, he was not concerned.
I on the other hand googled everything.
I should try to find my posts about that.

Re: Progesterone levels are stressing me out!
Thanks to everyone for the input. I called my doctor back because I was freaking out and she insists that it is not uncommon to have a high level initially and then taper off. She didn't think progesterone supplements were necessary since my betas look good...which is a good thing because I can't take progesterone because of my clotting problems. After spending the whole day while Max was at school "googling", I did find some people who had drastic progesterone drops and still had healthy pregnancies so I guess I'll just have to wait until Friday for the u/s. I'm hopeful that both little beans are healthy and growing. Anyway, I have to work tonight and I spent all the day on the computer instead of getting a nap. I'm sure by 3 a.m. I'll be kicking myself. LOL! Thanks again for all the input and support!
