Newbie with thoughts and questions.....
Hi, My name is Annick, Im a mom of 4 boys, had my tubes tied in April 2003, and now is looking to get them untied. Im newley married, to a wonderful man, for over a year and a half now. The boys I have currently arent his, I know he reminds me daily that they are just as much his as they are mine and he loves and cares for them just as much as I do. But I would love that bond with him with the pregnancy, and new addtion and being parents to a bio one. Can anyone relate? Ok I came on here to ask a question or two.....First off, I have my first appointment with the reversal doctor April 2 2008, almost exactly 5 years from the date I had them tied. Im extremely nervous, and wanting to have good news. I want to know if anyone of you went in to the appointment with zero or little money towards your procedure for a reversal? If so how long after did it take for you to get it? Were you nervous to get a loan for it? Im a person who doesnt like to get loans for anything, I know its like buying a big screen tv or what not, but its the initial *loan* that scares me. I always worry about the what ifs..... Im also wondering how long after you all had your first appointment did you schedule to get the reversal done? I would greatly appreciate any inputs, any stories, as I am new here, and very excited to have my first appointment to getting them reversed.

Hi Annick!
 !
My first appt was in April, and I went to it with no money.
The dr will tell u for sure, but they usually book the surgery as soon as your tests are complete and i think payment must be done 4 weeks before the surgery. I remember when i went in for test results in may and he said, "hows June?" and i said... "um, i need some time for payment" I think i went in a month later to pay him, and booked my surgery then, which was for july. Then, when i went in for my pre-op at the hospital, i paid the hospital fee.

Hi Annick & a big to u . Congrats on making the decision to have a TR!!
My name is Dianne and I am in Australia, so things r a little different down under. I had my TR surgery in August of 2003.
To answer ur ??'s.........I went into my app'tment with absolutely no money whatsoever, but luckily for me, my TR did not cost me anything, as 'Medicare' covered all the costs of my surgery , but if it was going to cost us money, then yes, we would have been prepared to get a loan to cover the costs .
My TR was scheduled 3 wks after my first app'tment, but unfortunately had to be cancelled due to me having an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection , I was disappointed, but we rescheduled my surgery for 2 wks later.
I had my TR on Aug 25, 2003, got AF on Aug 27, 2003, then I O'ed on or around Sept 11 - 13, 2003. I got my very first post TR at the end of Sept 2003. We delivered a healthy DD on June 9, 2004 and she is turning 4 this year .
I have experienced 2 consecutive losses since we began again in Feb 2006, I had a HSG to see if both my tubes were open in July 2007, three wks later, I again got another .
I am now expecting TR baby #2, we r having a boy and I am nearly 39 wks pg (see my siggy).
I wish u all the best with ur surgery and cant wait to follow ur journey afterward .
GL hon and KUP!!

Re: Newbie with thoughts and questions.....
Hi and Welcome aboard! I am not a TR lady but rather a VR wife and we did an IVF. I wish I could say we had the money, but we took loans for both procedures. It has been a long and rocky road for us, we haven't gotten our BFP yet but we are still hoping! It was nerve wracking to take out those loans and has been hard, but we BOTH want a child very badly, (I have none that are bio) and we would do it again in a heartbeat.....I wish you the best of luck and hope you stick around and let us share in your journey! All of the TR ladies here have alot of great advice!

Re: Newbie with thoughts and questions.....
my first DR appt for my reversal was on Feb 2, 2006 and i didnt have the TR till Feb 21, 2007...I didnt have the $$ right aways. I set up a seperate savings account that i couldnt touch (sapposed to be for a cruise lol) and had a big ceramic piggy bank that we all tossed spare change in all the time....we could have put it on the credit card right away. but by the time all my prior testing was done we had saved the money, charged it and then paid it off....then wrote it off lol....woot!...i worked 9 hour days and tried take less time off as possible...so I was able to save more...but i think taking out a loan is a good way as well....what dr are you planning on useing?
