Hello ladies,

I had a HSG done on 5/9/07 and the radiologist told me he couldn't get the dye to go in so he told ME that there appear to be some kind of blockage.

Well, I just spoke with my OB/GYN and he was explaining my results to me in detail and he said from what he was reading that the Radiologist could not get the catheter into my uterus to get the dye into the tube. The Radiologist says that there appear to be a blockage in my uterus.

My OB/GYN said that it's possible that it was not inserted properly and this HSG did not tell us what we needed to know and he would like for me to repeat the test and hopefully the next one will do the trick, I just need to decide over the weekend.
1. Do I want to go back to the Radiologist and have them do it.
OR
2. Do I want to go to a infertility specialist and have them do it, since they would be more knowledgeable.

Has this happened to anyone? I think I should let him refer me to a specialist for the next HSG?

Brenda

Yes, this did happen to someone.. was it Dj?
The catheter kept coming out, wouldnt go in, so the guy said both tubes were blocked...
But as it turned out, the catheter wasnt inserted properly (i think) and only one tube was blocked, the other was WIDe open....
hopefully she comes across this post and can add her info.
If you feel more comfy going to a specialist, then i suggest thats what you do. Do what feels right. Seeing an RE is a great idea.
I am sorry the hsg didnt give you any answers.

Mel, I took pics of my inscision, LOL and i showed d/h because i wanted him to 'share my pain' i guess.... he was actually pretty ok with it, he felt really sorry for me... Im glad he was 'ok' with it, because ill have another beautiful one just like it after my c-section!

I never quite got rid of that pouch before getting pregnant... i gained about ten pounds during surgery from fluid retention, and it dropped down to 5 once i started diluting myself with water, but those five extra pounds carried over to my pregnancy...i havent looked 'good' since before my surgery.

good morning girls
As far as the hsg well I had 1 and the only problem was that he could feel my cervix but couldnt locate it witht he cath. but eventually did and it went good. blocked on bothsides but this was prior to my TR.
putting myself in your shoes not knowing the complete history, I'd probably goto a RE and repeat HSG. When i went for mine the x-ray comented on how they dont useually preform them I would like to say i was a tad bit uncomfortable with that knowledge. So talking with my obgyn this past 2 weeks we decided on an HSG in Aug if not pregnant by then and he said to have my TR dr do it. ahhh im rambling . ok so i hope i helped....

lol Yesterday I had to pickup some wire brushes for my FIL at the doller store. !$ right? get up to the front and they said i had to have a minimum of 5$ to use my ATM. ERRRR dam what to buy? so i decided on HPT's was a good choice dont ya think?

Great choice Michelle.

Yeah it was DJ that had the problem with the HCG. I would try and see an RE & have them do another HCG. I know that it broke her heart when the radiologist told her that & it ended up being false. Good Luck Brenda.

Erin how are you doing? When do you go to the dr???
