Icon7 Hope this gives those in waiting some hope...

I haven't posted much. It's been a long journey to get to this point. I had my tubal ligation before we found out my newborn son had a fatal heart defect. He died three days later. It took me a year to feel like I was ready to try again. I'd been through infertility before so the thought of having surgery and then still potentially having to go on to IVF was a bit overwhelming to me at first. I had my reversal in October. When I still wasn't pregnant by January my doctor did a repeat HSG. It initially showed both tubes were blocked but after the doctor pulled the catheter I felt a sharp pain so he took another x-ray and found my right tube had opened up. Since he wanted to ensure I get pregnant in the first few months after my HSG he started me on Clomid that very next month. The first month nothing happened. The second month I had a chemical pregnancy. This month we were told that the corpus luteum cyst from my pregnancy the month before hadn't completely reabsorbed and it was keeping my follicles from maturing. At that point my husband and I decided that enough was enough and started to come to grips with the fact that we had used up all the emotional stamina we had.

Five days ago I started throwing up. My two adopted daughters and my 3 year old son had just gotten over the stomach flu so I just assumed it was that. Being a pee-on-stick-aholic I took a pregnancy test anyway. At what would have been 8 days past ovulation (although the RE said I didn't ovulate...imagine that) I got a positive home pregnancy test. I didn't believe it so the next day I bought one of the digital tests. At 10 days past ovulation I got a very clear "pregnant" on the digital test.

I went in today and my initial hcg level was 120. My doctor said the range for 13 dpo is usually 20-100 so he was really pleased. I go back on Wednesday to see if my numbers double and then I have an ultrasound on the 16th to check to see if this baby is in the right place and potentially see a heartbeat.

Anyway, hopefully this gives those of you still waiting for your BFP some hope. If I can get pregnant with a history of infertility and only one open tube...anything is possible.

Andi

My Jewels....12/07
Where did I come from?" the baby asked its mother. She answered, half-crying, half-laughing, and clasping the baby to her breast: "You were hidden in my heart as its desire, my darling. You were in the dolls of all my childhood games. In all my hopes and my loves, in my life, in the life of my mother, and in her mother before her, you have lived."
