Hi! New to this group!
Hi! I'm Amy and thought I would introduce myself. I didn't even realize this group was on here.... My DH had a vas rev 3 1/2 years ago and we have been ttc ever since. The docs said everything went great and we should be able to conceive, but nothing yet. Does anyone else know someone who was able to get pregnant after this much time? Or should I just consider the reversal a failure?? I would love some imput. I still have hope....

Hi Amy. Welcome to the board. I personally can't give you an answer on VR, because I'm a TR girl. But some of the ladies on here will be able to offer some info. Good luck with everything!

Re: Hi! New to this group!
Hi Amy. to the board. I am so glad you found us. My name is Janet. I am one of the co-hosts here!! My dh had his VR in Aug 2006! We just had our first VR baby in September.
I have heard of some people taking quite a long time before they get their But I do have a couple of questions for you.
1. Who did your DH's VR?
2. Has he had a SA done? What were his numbers?
3. Have you had any testing done?
Those might help us point you in the right direction. Please stick around & get to know us. The support system here is Awesome.

my dh is going on 2 years since his VR and nothing since, I know of one gal and i'm sure there is more but after two years of nothing she finally got her bfp, so it can happen, Have you had a SA done recently, if so do you have sperm? if you have sperm that's a good sign it's just hard to predict if and when you will concieve,
good luck to you

Re: Hi! New to this group!
He had his vr done by Dr John Gatewood in Tampa Florida. He had a SA done in the beginning and did have sperm, I don't remember the numbers because it was a while ago but they did say there was no reason why we shouldn't conceive right away (that was over 3 years ago). Hubby hasn't had it done again since the first time though. He has no interest in doing the testing again . I have been in for testing and everything is fine with me. Could his sperm just go away if it was there initially??

Do you chart and temp? FertilityFriend is a great way to help with timing etc.. maybe it's just a timing thing?

Re: Hi! New to this group!
Hi and welcome aboard!
I am Carrie and a VR wife.
It is great that his surgery went well and that his first SA was good. However, they do recomend that you have more than one SA, the tubes can scar, so that would be my first recomendation, talk him into getting another SA. If that is out of the question, try getting on of those Fertell tests (ebay) and that can give you a rough idea.
If you do have enough sperm 20million motile is considered fertile, then I would also recomend having them test for antibodies in the ejaculate (they can do this at the same time as a normal SA but you have to ask them to and pay extra)
My dh has ASA's and that is the reason we are not able to concieve naturally
