Cassie!
Sorry to hear about the troubles you went through with your clamps!
What a nightmare!
I'm Shilo, one of the Hosts here, and I am from Canada too (BC)
Sassy, from the boards here is from Alberta, so maybe she could give you some info about a TR doctor.
I know I did a search for them before, for Alberta but can't remember what I came up with, so maybe she has some input.
Regular doctors can not re-attach your tubes.
It is microsurgery done most often by a Reproductive Endocrinologist who specializes in this very prescision based surgery.
Removing the tubes will not aid in a successful pregnancy,
The damaged part needs to be cut out, and then the healthy part of the tube sewn back together with sutures finer than human hair.
It is not covered by medical services plan, but some doctors offer a payment plan.
I had mine done in Vancouver for 3700.00
2000 for the doctor and 1700 for the hospital.
Are you thinking about having the surgery done?
P.S., your husbby kind of looks like mine,

Hi & to the board. I am Janet one of the hosts here. I don't have alot of info for you as I am a VR wife, but just wanted to tell you sorry for all the pain you endured. I hope that one of the ladies here is able to help you out!!
thanks the doc i am see here can do it... i just don't want him too he is an idiot.. and yes if just takin my clamps off does not work i will getting to procedure done. i was i have a 50/50 of getting prego this way as my one side should work as it did with the clamp on i know it is expensive to do...i jsut don't know if we can afford for it to be done
Thats understandable. about the expense.
we had to save up for quite some time.
I was aware of only two doctors in all of alberta that were qualified for such a surgery.
It does not sound like he is one of them, from the way you are describing him. I would certainly not trust him with that.
I know that one of the doctors had a SUPER long waiting list...
I would imagine that the risk of an ectopic pregnancy in your scarred tubes could be rather high if pregnancy were to occur.

Well, that was my point, in the way you described him, he sounded quite incompetent, almost killing your daughter and failing clamps etc....
Because it is such a complicated procedure, it should be done by a reproductive endocrinologist who is very experienced in microsurgery. Lots of doctors will say they can do it. It's a quick buck for them, and its not guaranteed to work anyhow, so its not like anyone can sue them afterward.
So, im only trying to say that if you DO go through with the surgery at some point, make sure he explains his method of the surgery to you, you can find the whole procedure online, and if what he tells you doesnt add up, then you know to seek out someone else.
Heres a bit of info on TR, taken from the place where I had my reversal done in Vancouver :
STERILIZATION REVERSAL: TUBAL JOINING (TUBO-TUBAL ANASTOMOSIS) BY MICROSURGERY
A join is made in each fallopian tube for sterilization reversal with technically precise microsurgery. It is exquisitely accurate surgery. Careful stitching of the tubal tissues with sutures that are as thin as hair, leads to seamless healing of the fallopian tube.
Our research at UBC provides the following advice for women who wish to undergo reversal of sterilization. The age of the woman at the time of reversal the most important factor. Those who are less than 35 years of age at the time of reversal can anticipate a baby rate of 70%, with most pregnancies occurring within 18 months after surgery. Those over 35 years of age will have a 55% baby rate. The only other predictor of fertility is the length of the joined-up tube (it needs to be at least 4 centimetres). The ectopic pregnancy rate is only 2-3% (about the same rate as for women generally).
Those specific factors that do not alter the baby rate are:
- the type of sterilization
- the length of time interval from date sterilization to date of reversal
- the number of tubes anastomosed (one or both)
Some surgeons have tried doing reversal by laparoscopy. We have experience with both approaches. Our department developed the technology to perform the first tubal anastomosis by laparoscopy in North America. However, we have concluded that the long instruments we use at laparoscopy are less precise than the short pen-like microsurgical instruments that we use at minilaparotomy (bikini incision). This precision is essential for joining tubes that are as narrow as a millimeter, but is not essential for opening the blocked ovarian end of the tube that is usually at least a centimeter wide.
Because the hospital stay for either laparoscopy or minilaparotomy is only one day, we continue to advise microsurgery through a short ‘bikini’ incision for reversal surgery.
I really hope that you are able to find a way to make it happen for you!
Its awful that you were told there was a rip in your uterus, got your tubes tied and then it failed!
I love your pics, the one of you little girl watering the flowers is especially adorable, what a darling!

The day you deliver, outside will be slightly overcast. Your baby will arrive in the evening.
After a labor lasting approximately 8 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and will be 19-1/2 inches long. This child will have green eyes and a lot of hair.
you ladies are awsome. the clamps failin was not his fault it was a diff doc that did them there is two here and my clamps failed cause there was a error with them or a tool but there is 30 women like me from that lot off stuff
