I'm new to this board but not to SK. Anyway, I started depo(stupid idea) in Dec. 2005. I never went back for another shot when I was supposed to in March. I had a period for 3 days starting March 21st. I haven't seen af again since. Even though I only had ONE shot, will this still cause me to be irregular? Do you think it's possible I can become preggo anytime soon or did I screw that up by taking the shot too? I was always a regular girl. 28-29 days in between. Will it take a year for me too even with only one shot? Sucks if it does! TIA!
bet you never thought you would be happy for af to return and be regular! that's a great big milestone with depo because even 1 shot can mees you up for a year or more.

Well I'm not as "normal" as I was hoping for! After that af started I didn't get another one until last week so I went almost 3 months without af! UGH!
I was on depo for 2 years-July 05 was my last shot. Today was the start of my first period with the help of three rounds of provera! It took one full year before getting AF, then it didn't even come naturally. I'm continuing to take provera, and in September I am going to see if I can get AF on my own. My doctor told me that because I was on Depo, they don't even talk about TTC until a year from your last shot. Once you hit that milestone, they call it TTC. So because my last shot was in July, August will be my first month of TTC because hopefully most of the Depo is out of my system. So even though I have been TTC for a year, August will technically be my first month. Then after ANOTHER YEAR of trying to regulate everything they will begin the infertility process (chlomid, etc). That's just my experience. Being patient is overrated!!! Good luck to you and keep us posted!
According to the manufactures it can take as short as 3months and as long as 3 years even after the first shot.
The shot tricks your body into thinking it is in menopause, which is why you stop menstruating, and it is also why they use HRT drugs to help get women back to normal.
I got only 2 shots but it took me almost a full year to finally become pregnant again. But then again I am the epitome of Fertile Mertle!
