Seriously
http://www.fertilityfriend.com has the easiest set up and also has a lot of information. Also reading TCOYF is highly recommended as well (TCOYF = Taking Charge of Your Fertility)
Basic charting starts with the purchase of a BBT thermometer (basal body temperature) these are a bit more accurate when it comes to charting. They range from $8-$10 and you can find them at Wal-Mart or drug stores.
These thermometers will also come with ready made charts with their inserts. You can use them or find some free charting software online like FF (fertility friend). Then when you wake up every morning after at least 4-8hrs of uninterrupted sleep and before getting out of bed you take your temperature. You then record the temp on your chart.
Normal non-depo women will have consistant (or a baseline temp) temp's that fluctuate slightly and will peak when they O (ovulate) and drop after their LP (luteal pphase, the time from when you ovulate to the time AF arrives) when their AF/period arrives.
HOWEVER if you become pregnant then your temps will stay elevated and even increase and stay elevated all through your pregnancy.
Optimal BD (baby dancing/sex) is right around your ovulation spike. Sperm can live in the vagina for about 3-5 days depending on you acidic levels (these levels can also help determine the gender of a baby but not accurately)
Any ways these are the basics. Those that are more into NFP and charting will also monitor their CM (cervical mucous) and CP (cervical position) as the cervix does move positions throughout your cycles.
Those that still have depo-provera (DP) in their system will have very unpredictable charts and temps. Some will have annovulatory cycles where they don't O at all, but mainly their temps will be unstable fluctuating more than a few point degrees. Normal fluctuation is in the range of -.5 to +.5.
I hope this is enough to get you started if you need more info, LMK and I will point you in the right directions.
Good Luck!
