Default Has anyone heard of getting pg on depo?

this might be the wrong board to ask. But I thought I heard there was a small possiblity but there could be permenant damage.

Lately I've had some weird problems, like I would think something or dream it. And it's come true. So I had a dream that we brought home a boy from our vacation. Kind of strange but worth the worry to me. Thanks

Yes you can still get preganat while on Depo. It is again only 99% effective, just like any other birth control.

The reports on depo babies are genital defects. They seem rare to me because I haven't any personal reports given to me yet but I have had several women let me know they got pregnant while taking depo. Pregnancy usually happens within the first week after the shot or they were just BARELY pregnant when they got the shot. So newly pregnant that the pregnancy test wasn't showing positive. Doctors can avoid this by doing a blood test instead of a urine test.

We know that the shot should also begiven within the first 6 weeks after birth however you can ovulate at any given time during that PP phase. It is also supposed ot be given while one is menstruating but that doesn't mean a pregnancy hasn't happend either.

Forgot to finish. . .

Other neo-natal side effect is the usual low birth weight as well, which seems irrelavant now a days since doctors induce babies early any ways so they don't get "too big". The ACOG recommends that babies over 8 pounds 8oz be born via c/s especially if it would be a repeat c/s. (B.S. to me sorry if TMI ) 2 of my 4 VBACs have been over 9 pounds.

Well, i've been on the shot for a year now. But my last apt was late December. the original date was jan but they called to re-schedule. And when the receptionist looked, the original date was extremely close to the end. And we moved the date up to december

Depo side effects can feel like pregnancy symptoms.

Go through my web-site at http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/CelestialEnigma to learn more about the side effects of depo.

HTH some.
