Icon5 Update-Still No AF-What do you think?

Ok, so it's CD # 40 already and No ! Here's some info so you know hwat has happened this cycle (remember that I didn't chart, but used the electronic fertility monitor).

CD# 19-high fertility, BD'd
CD# 20-Ovulation, BD'd
CD# 30-31-light pink mucous
CD# 38-39 abundant EWCM, both days using Clearblue Easy Early Response HPT
CD# 40-
No other symptoms ie; sore breasts, spotting, nausea or vomitting. I have some lower abdominal cramping, but I think that is just my irritable bowel syndrome acting up b/c I'm a wee bit stressed (dosen't take much to startup).

What do you all think? What could this possibly be? I never have not had AF before.
Help would be greatly appreciated...thanks so much!

Are you regular? If not, I would wait another 5-7 days to test again. Do you have a link to your chart? I didn't look at your siggy to see. Seeing temp patterns would help.

Unfortunately, I didn't chart . This was my 1st time TTC, 1st Cycle (we didn't really do anyhting beyond the obvious to conceive DD..no charting, etc.) and I didn't think I need to chart since I was using the Clearblue Easy Fertility monitor (it told me what CD high fertility and ovulation was). After reading the post here and reviewing Taking Charge of Your Fertility, I know that is it's important to do as it give you clues as to what is going on in your cycle. If AF rears her ugly head soon then I'll start charting with the next cycle (and used the fertility monitor as well. It's possible the fertility monitor wasn't accurate, but I have heard that it worked pretty well.

I'm wondering if perhaps you didn't ovulate on CD20. Maybe your body got ready to ovulate (exlaining the LH surge) but for some reason just didn't ovulate then. With all that EWCM I'd try to get some BD'ing in - just in case you're fertile now. It seems like most women get a BFP by 20 dpo but I'm sure it is not unheard of to get a BFN at 20 dpo and still be pregnant.

What type of birth control were you using before you started TTC?

All of that could certainly be true. I have never not had a period before, though. I do recall several years ago having a period around CD 40, but I have been fairly regular the past several months (Cycle length around 30 days).

So say I didn't Ovulate on day 20, it has still been 40 days since the start of my last period. If I was having 30 day cycles, them this would be around CD 10 of a new cycle. I'd have EWCM this early?

The only other thing I can think of is an ectopic pregnancy. I believe that you don't always get a with an eptopic.

As for the BCP's: I was on Yasmin BCP's but have been off of them for about a year. We weren't BDing for a while due to my husband's health condition (the meds he was on were affecting his ability to you-know-what) so there weren't many opportunities to become pregnant or be concerned about being on BCP's. So BCP's doesn't have anything to do with it really.

Sorry..I know, this has me stumped as well! LOL. Like i have said in past posts, i am still learning about this. It can be quite a challenge figuring out what is going on, esp since I didn't chart

I get the feeling I'm most likely not pregnant. I put in a call to my OB/GYN. She is not in today, but the NP is and is supposed to call me back. I hope that they call soon....I'm

Ok the thing that jumped out at me is your age and how you are worried about it. Worrying causes stress which actually inhibits your chances of TTC.

ALso with being 39 and getting a late start in childbearing then you might also want to consider that your body could possibly be in a perimenopausal state http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C300371.html meaning it is gearing up to go into menopause. It wouldn't be unheard of at your age since perimenopause can last for 4 years or more beofre the onset of menopause itself.

You may want to get some tests done to see where your estrogin and progesterone levels are at. If they aren't in balance then it could make it very difficult for you to TTC. If they are out of balance they can also perscribe some Rx to help rebalance you. In the meantime you can start using some progesterone cream. It won't hurt a baby since a fetus needs progesterone in order to a viable fetus. If progesterone is low then you increase your chances of a miscarriage.

Because of your advanced maternal age your doctor should agree to the tests since you are serious in wanting another child. If you were younger though they may make you wait a few months first.

HTH some

Thanks so much for your response! Yes, I can indeed be peri-menopausal (no denying it even if I want to). I spoke with the OB/GYN's NP a little while ago and she said that CD 20 is a little late to O, and that most women O between days 12-16. She asked me what my cycle length has been and of course I coulnd't tell her except for the past few months since I wasn't paying much attention to them, but that I didn't think that I had a cycle this long in quite a long time. Of course she said I should keep track of my cycles (I felt chastised...lol). She said that the HPT's are pretty accurate, but if I don't feel crampy and like I'm going to ovulate by next week, then I should come in and get a blood test. Also I should have a hormone panel done (just like you mentioned ). She also mentioned that if we want another baby and don't get pregnant soon that we may want to get started with an Reproductive Endocrinologist (both my husband and I should be evaluated) and not wait too long to do it as I'm approaching age 40 (in November..arghhh..). You are right in that they will agree to test.

As for the cream..I can get it over the counter? and at what point in my cycle should I use it or not use it? Thank you..you've been very helpful. I really needed some one to talk to about this.
