I called my OB/GYN's office today to see if I could fax them my charts, b/c it appears that I may have a Luteal Phase Defect (or at least borderline). My LP has been 10 days and this may be preventing me from conceiving. I am REALLY happy that I was able to get an appt on May 26th as that will be just a few days before ovulation (I hope) and perhaps they can do an ultrasound to check for follicles and do a hormone panel to make sure all my hormones are a normel level. Perhaps I can even go back and get a progesterone level post-ovulation to make sure that I'm not deficient in that. If I were, then I would have time to take progesterone supplements this cycle. I didn't want to wait around another cycle to get this taken care of.

The bad news is that one of the OB/GYN's is no longer with the practice and I really liked her (she was so sweet and wonderful when I delivered Elizabeth...she was truly in awe of the birth even though she had been doing it for years...and said so). There is a Nurse Practitioner and Nurse-Midwife in her place. There is also the other OB/GYN who I know well also (she's excellent), so I'm going to see her for my appt. Thank goodness I started charting, or I wouldn't have known that I could possiple have a LPD.

That is so good you are able to detect that! Charting is always a first great step to take to figure out what might be wrong. I never thought taking my tempurature int he morning could tell me so much about myself and how my body is working! Interesting isn't it!
