Default New here...

Hi...I'm Sarah...I mostly lurk and occassionally post over on the infertility boards...I found this board and thought i might enjoy posting with you all...As of next month I have been TTC #1 for 4 years....I was PG one time but had a m/c....I've been concerned about my weight for years, but have a very hard time losing weight....My doctors have all said that my weight doesn't necessarily make any difference with TTC but I figure it probably does have something to do with it...
I was reading the questions thread so I'll go copy and post that and that will help you all get to know me...
Are any of you here currently trying to lose weight and TTC at the same time? I could really use some buddies.

Hi Sarah! I'm not currently ttc, but I'm trying to lose some weight before we start in August/September. I just joined a gym at the end of March, and I'm working with a personal trainer. I've lost five pounds so far, but I've got a loooooong way to go. I'm new to the boards too; just started posting yesterday. I just wanted to say hi to a fellow newbie. See you around the boards!

Hi Sarah,

I've been here for a bit, but usually just a lurker also. We aren't really "trying", but we just have the attitude if it happens, it happens. I am also trying to lose weight, but just to lose, not because I'mm ttc. I also have ALOT to lose and a long way to go. I would love to have a buddy who is ttc and trying to lose. Let me know if you are interested.

Ronda

Definately interested in having a buddy!!! I really could use it...I have a LONG way to go too!!!! A really long way to go!!!! I don't want to lose weight just to TTC but for the long term too....I had a good start a few weeks back, I joined curves, was cutting back on my food intake (not really dieting just cutting down on the amount) and was starting to lose, I don't know what happened exactly but i just can't seem to keep the momentum....

I know what you mean. My fiancee and I would say "we're going to watch" and that would last for a couple days, but the novelty would wear off. We just moved in together in February. And let me tell you living/eating/cooking with a man is very different. He like sweets, but really like food in general. I just got fed up a couple of weeks ago and I was determined to do something. I started health performance (here's that link http://www.healthyperformance.net/). It's expensive, but it does work. I have a total of about 60 pounds to lose. And it seems like it is going to take FOREVER!

I was doing low-carb, but now that we're actively TTC, I thought it would be best to go off and do it the hard way. So I'm basically just trying to watch what I eat. Nothing fancy.

I'm thinking about doing Jenny Craig...I wish I had the courage to spend that much money....I know it's so expensive, but if I only did it for two months and lost a lot of weight, wouldn't it be worth it? What does everyone think?

I was doing low carb too. Lost nearly 50 pounds but then . . .well I kind of got depressed and stressed with family stuff and fell off my wagon fairly hard and am having a hard time finding motivation to get back on.

I've always been in that "obese" catagory and apparently don't have any problems getting pregnant, LOL I've had 5 kids in the past 6 years and we are planning on TTC #6 around August or September. I don't have problems when I am pregnant, so far and I hope it stays that way.

My last pregnancy I reached up and over 300 pounds :shock but with dieting and such I've gotten down to the weight I was when i had my first, about 240, so that's a plus. I'd really like to lose more before TTC again, but my seems to have been blown away by the wind, lately and i can't gather it back up! LOL I'd love to be below 200 (even if it's 199) but I don't see it happening yet.

Good Luck to you and we are all here to support you!

My aunt had a friend who did Jenny Craig and it worked, but at the time all the food had to be purchased (I think they have a plan now you just used some of their food or something like that?), it worked for her, but my godmother dad it years ago and put all the weight back on as soon as she starting eating "real" food. I don't think anything would be wrong with low-carb, even while ttc, I say do what works for you!

Jenny Craig may be kind expensive, but think of it as an investment in yourself!
