Default A new beginning

Okay, today is Day One of my weight loss program.

First, I have to tell you how disgusted I am with myself. After Brad was born, I was down 55 pounds from my highest PG weight. But in January, I started gaining it back and I gained 30 pounds in five months. The clothes that fit me a few months ago are tight. I can't even wear my red sweater set anymore because I look absolutely FAT in it. My BRAS are even tight.

I am out of breath all the time--it's funny how I never noticed it before, but when I lost the weight and gained it back, now I realize how out of breath I am, and how I wasn't when I weighed less.

Plus, my husband was away for the past few days and I just gorged myself. I didn't think about what I was eating at all--I just ate.

It was so depressing to get back on the scale this morning and see 199 when in January it read 172.

So today is a new beginning. I am going to lose that weight. My short term goal is 25 pounds. And I am only going to weigh myself once per week, not once a day. I just wanted to state this here so I would be somewhat accountable.

Hooray for you and congrats. I just started WW Sunday and just saying, "This is day one", really feels like a big step, well at least to me it did, anyways!

Hey Nicole,

Congratulations on deciding to make some changes!!!! What are you planning to do? Diet, exercise, combination of both? As a fellow PCOS'er, I know how hard it is! Good luck to you, and keep us updated!

We can all do this! I've had some success in the past, so I know I can, and when I look at the alternative I really have no other choice. The alternative would be to not care, and just let myself get bigger as I turn a blind eye. I just have to figure out the magic combination again! I think WW is great, I just have a hard time making the meetings with my schedule. I have to be flexible around my experiments so sometimes I have to do quite a bit of overtime. I am thinking about starting online because I think that would work in my schedule better.

Nicole, we're here if you need us, rant and rave and we'll help you!

I started Jenny Craig today. It's so expensive, but my DH and I discussed it and decided to take the money out of our savings account. We'll re-evaluate in 4 weeks and if I'm not making significant progress, then we'll abandon it.

Basically, I'm looking at this as an investment in my health and the future of our family. I want to be able to play with Brad without being out of breath. I want to be here for him for a long time. So I'm spending money to do it.

Plus, they give you the prices of all the food you can buy, so I can pick and choose the cheapest ones!
