Re: May participate in study
So I finally got around to calling about the study. I talked to the Dr that will be conducting it, and he told me what it is. First, they make sure you qualify, if you do, they do a bunch of initial tests, such as a tv u/s to look at the uterus, ovaries and pelvic structure. Then, they take blood work and examine your hormone levels. Then they put you on varying levels of estrogen and prometrium (a plant-derived progesterone). They monitor you every month for 3 months, I think they vary the dosage to see which dosage will cause regular af. I made an appt to go in and see if I qualify for 9/9. Even though I had irregular cycles when I was a teenager, and since I came off depo, I was never given and u/s to look at my ovaries and I've always thought that's the only way they can diagnose PCOS, so I'm interested to see what they find. Hopefully I will qualify, and I'm not eliminated because I took depo or something like that!
