Default Leese

Hey - where in Ohio are you moving to? I live in Cincinnati - if you are anywhere close to there I could give you the name of a great RE. I was born and raised here and I wouldn't live anywhere else. The worst thing we have is tornadoes (well, we also have cicadas but that only happens every 17 years but it is NASTY). I can also give to you tips on places to visit that are off the beaten path. DH and I can't take long vacations because of the foster care so we have done a lot of day trips around here. When are you moving to join your husband? It must be tough to be separated from him - I can't imagine. I have been attached at the hip to my DH since before we married. Well, good luck with everything.

Hi Elizabeth,

We're moving to Columbus so DH can go to OSU. From what I've seen, I think I'll like it. DH will probably be pretty busy, so day trip suggestions would be great since I think long vacations are probably out for at least a little while. Thanks!

I'm going to look for an OB that can do some things for me in terms of Clomid and what not, but if necessary I'll go to an RE. I'd just like to save the $$ since I imagine I'd have to pay for an RE out of pocket. And I'd be willing to drive to Cincinnati for a good doctor . We had decided against invasive fertility treatments if we are faced with IF, but we haven't exactly decided which treatments that would exclude, so I think I kind of just have to deal with the issues as they come up.

Being separated is tough. I just dropped him off at the airport tonight, won't see him again for 5 weeks. But it's temporary, necessary, and I keep reminding myself that I'm lucky - he's not going off to war, so there's people in a lot worse situations than us. But still, he's my best friend, and we're attached at the hip, too. I guess my hips are 2500 miles wide now, !

Columbus is about 1 1/2 hours away from Cincinnati. I know people who live here and work in Columbus so it really isn't that far. One day trip that is close to you is Ohio Caverns - I think it is near Springfield? I will look it up to let you know for sure - it was pretty neat. There is a great park there that is just beautiful - it has a big ravine you can hike down into. We went in October when the leaves were changing and it was so pretty. COSI is also there - it is mainly for kids but is a fun outing for adults, too. It stand for something like Columbus Ohio Science Institute?? I am not sure about that but everyone calls it COSI (pronounced CO- Sigh). Anyway, I will think about it and let you know more places to go if you want. Ohio is pretty interesting. Oh - there is a Johnny Appleseed museum near there too - interesting. Of course, the Columbus Zoo is worth visiting at least once.

I am sorry you have to be separated from your DH but you have a good attitude. Those 5 weeks will be gone before you know it. LOL about the size of your hips.

I am sure they have good clinics there in Columbus. I don't know how old you are but try not wait too long to get help if you can. I am 40 now and we didn't start getting help until we were almost out of time. That is why I am almost hysterical that this pg works out because I am quickly running out of time. I wish we had not waited so long. Just a thought.

Thanks for the info! My MIL is a big roller coaster fan, so she wants to come out and go to Cedar Point as soon as we're settled. I'm not a big fan of roller coasters, so she can come out and go with DH to their hearts' content!

Do they allow camping at the caverns? I think there's plenty around there to keep us busy, but I can't figure out a good camping site.

I'm only 26, I'll be 27 in a few months. Since I'm not getting normal cycles, I'm not going to wait to get help. In fact, I have an appt tomorrow morning to enroll in a clinical study to try to get my cycles back to normal. I'd like to have 3-4 kids, and I'd like to have some room in between them, so I'm glad we decided to start trying sooner rather than later. A few years ago I was just warming to the idea of having kids, and was sure I wouldn't be ready to start TTC until I was well into my 30's. But I feel good about starting now.

How are you feeling? Any symptoms yet?
