Re: Had follie check Saturday
Hi Elizabeth!
Great news on your follies. I hope you see 3 nice, big, plump ones on Tuesday when you go back. As for the shape of our bodies, apple shape is the bad one. I am apple-shaped (as are most people with insulin resistance). I carry most of my excess fat in my abdomen, although my hips, thighs and butt carry some too. Pear shaped women tend to look fairly slim if you're looking at them at a side angle, but front-on or from the back, the wide hips and butt are what give them the pear shape. They also tend to be smaller from the waist up. One of my dear friends is a pear shape. We go to the gym together, and it always amazes me that she doesn't carry the 'spare tire' around her middle like I do. Oh well, whatever shape we are, that is how we were made, and I think it would be in our best interest to learn to embrace it, rather than fight it. Easier said than done, for sure! Now granted, I am definitely trying to lose weight (if only to appease my fat-phobic RE), but I know that no matter what I do, I will always be apple shaped. C'est la vie!
I would say that if your RE isn't concerned about your weight, then you ought not to be either. I don't think he/she would let you go ahead with your attempts if he/she didn't think it was safe for you (or for your future baby).
I wish you the best of luck, and I can't wait to hear more about those follies on Tuesday!
