For anyone interested

Hi ladies!

Based on many of the recent posts, it sounds like there are a lot of us here who are motivated and wanting to lose weight and get into shape! I thought maybe we could use this board to be accountable to ourselves and each other in our weight loss journeys.
So let's share:
What steps did you take today in order to work toward your goal?

Did you exercise?

Did you eat a healthy meal?

Did you drink lots of water?

Did you give yourself permission to go slowly and not expect overnight results?

What worked for you and what didn't work?

Or, did you have rough day, and have trouble sticking to your plan?

Anything else you want to share?

I'll start:

Today I went for a 60 minute walk before work. I set my alarm clock for 5:45am, in order to have enough time to do it before I had to get to work. I had packed my lunch and snacks for work last night, and it was all 'good' stuff. I finished drinking my 8 glasses of water at 3:00!!!! I stopped after work to get my hair cut, and I was very tempted to pick up some munchies for tonight (a bag of chips or cheezies), but I chose not to buy them.

Okay, so who's next? Come on, let's share and support each other!

Just this week it is my goal to walk three times, for 15 minutes. I haven't been doing anything at all, so this is a big step for me. Today I walked for 20 minutes, and I was tired at the end of it! I'm going to do it twice more this week and next week I'll up it to four times a week.

I am going to keep myself committed to this by thinking of my motivations: fitting in my clothes, breathing easily, being healthy, playing with my son, looking like my sisters (both 130 pounds!!).

Good luck to everyone!

Hey Nicole,

Congrats on your walking! It's great that you set smaller goals, and will work your way up to bigger ones! I too started with very short walks, and gradually increased the duration and intensity. Way to go!

Well, today was not my best performance! Not by a long shot. Yes, I did go for a 60 minute walk before work, but after that, it was all down hill.

I forgot to take my Metformin with my breakfast, and I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but I was craving junk all day. I had a couple of donuts at work this afternoon. Then instead of the chicken and veggies I had planned for supper, I caved in and bought a bag of BBQ Fritos, and that was that. Ugh, now I feel sick, bloated and lazy. I *should* go for another walk tonight to try to counter it, but I don't know that I will.

So, anyone else have a really inspiring tale to tell me about how their day went?

Ok My goal should be to stop making brownies so I'll stop eating them,

I have no excuses now either since my Dh boiled the eggs I needed this week. I just haven't been motivated to do anything. Al though I am getting very close now that my roller coaster date is now set!

OMG! Stephanie, you are too funny! I love that goal! Just yesterday when I was grocery shopping (on an empty stomach, which is a no-no ), I picked up a package of this M&M Brownie mix, and I almost put it in my cart. And then I thought, geez Novi, what are you planning to do with this? Well, duh, I guess I was going to bake them and eat them. Somehow, I managed to put it back on the shelf. Binge averted!

Good luck to all of us this week, as we try to take care of ourselves and work toward our personal goals!

Well, let see. I wasn't really paying attention to what I was eating this weekend, but I know that I was choosing water over soda the majority of the time, I ate a black bean burger instead of a real burger, and today I went for a 10 mile bike ride with my DH. Although I'm paying for the ride now, by thighs are sooo sore! Regular excercise is going to be one of the most difficult things for me, so hopefully I can keep it up after today. I'm going to wait until after my trip to start a regimented diet.

On another note, I started spotting today, so I expect that I will probably start tommorow. So I should be done by the time we leave and not have to worry about it on my trip! Yay!

I did make it to the grocery store today so I have things to take to work for lunch so I don't have an excuse to get fast food. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?!? Just kidding. If I do anything else great, I'll post it!

Stephanie - I hope the roller coaster date is what you need to movtivate you. You've still done great so far, even if you've fallen off the wagon lately. And you've still got a few months before trying. You'll do great.

Nicole - That sounds like a good plan for easing yourself into working out. I tend to overdo it and then not excercise for several days because I'm too sore. I need to learn that I can't quite keep up with my DH on the bike.

Novadele - Good for you putting the brownies back! Every step counts! I don't know enough about metformin to know if that made you crave junk food, but I've been craving eggs lately. I'm guessing it's from the provera.
