...to bring on PPAF? I don't want to wean DD but after almost 15 months, there's no sign of AF. I'm started to get a little stressed! I've tried cutting back on the frequency of DD's nursing but that seems to make her want it even more. She also nurses 2-3 times during the night which seems almost impossible to eliminate. I read that the amount of prolactin that gets released in you body is highest between 1:00-6:00 am but I can't keep her from nursing w/out an excessive amount of crying (she's post-colic so she really knows how to wail!). A lot of my friends who are still nursing got AF months ago and so I'm feeling left behind! Is this simply a matter of being patient or is there anything I can do to jump start AF?

When my DS wanted to nurse during the evening our dr suggested offering him a bottle of water. So while it was difficult eventually he stopped waking for his evening feeding. The dr said if we were offering something that wasn't appealing eventually he would find it un-appealing to wake for his feeding!!!! It took some time but it worked. I got my PPAF when DS was 6 months old. It is first important to eliminate the night feedings, if you can do this I think Af will pay you a visit in time.
