question for you
Hi girls - just a quick question for you guys...
Would there be any reason that a test could come up + while bf'ing? Like before the bf child was 6 months? Hypothetically of course...
What would the chances be if say someone barely had sex and when they did used a condom and it never broke or anything. And you were breastfeeding and your child was less than 6 months and you never got a period. what do you think the chances would be?
Just curious...hypothetically...

Re: question for you
Well, it CAN happen. It did happen to me, but it was faint. But it was a cheap test that must have had to much color or something. However it is highly unlikely, and condoms are only 98-99% effective if used right, which means that 1-2 people out of every 100 who use them right will get pg. The user failure rate is actually about 12 %, so you could be one of the ones it didn't work for. I would suggest(if it DID happen to you ) That you go to the store and buy an equate brand double pack and use first morning urine, and DON'T read it after the time limit is up(then you can get evap lines, which I have also gotten, but not with equate), just throw it away after the 10 or 20 minutes has passed(whatever it says in the instructions) HTH and please let us know!

Re: question for you
Well - I actually bought a digital cbe and an Answer and both came back negative. The one I got a faint line on was an internet cheapie with FMU. The others were taken about 45 minutes ago after only holding it for 2 hours 45 min or so.
guess I will wait and see...

Re: question for you
Keep us informed if you test again. I've never used the internet ones, but I only got + when I was +....weren't there problems with the internet ones giving false +? or was that false -? Oh I don't know, I may not even be remembering correctly. Do you hope it is + OR -?

Re: question for you
Well the internet cheapies are notorious for evap lines at any time after 10 minutes, and sometimes they are colored. Did you read the test within the 10 minutes? And they test for way less HCG, so if you got a faint line with the internet one(which is usually about 25 MIU's) you probably would not have gotten a + on a digital one yet(tests for about 100 MIU's) or Answer(50+, not exactly sure which it is on that one), especially if you didn't use FMU! Good Luck!

Re: question for you
The line on the internet cheapie came up as it was going across - so right away. Faint line mind you.
And here is the weird thing - when I took apart the CBE digital, I saw a faint 2nd blue line but it was a few minutes after it "expired" so who knows if it was an evap line or not.
I don't know how I would feel at this point. We planned on Brooke being our last b/c of her being a preemie and now I would be high risk right away. Plus my DH travels and I just don't know how I would do it. We would work it out if it was real - but I just don't know how I feel about it and I feel bad that I feel that way. I am kind of nervous. Brooke turns 6 months on Sunday. That would make them VERY close in age. Esp since I have never went full term (37 and 32 weeks). And what if this potential one came even earlier - it's just so hard.

Re: question for you
Well, if the line came up that fast, you are very likely pregnant, go to the store and get an Equate brand and take it tomorrow!! The digital ones ALWAYS have 2 lines when you take them apart, they don't work on the same principle that the other tests do, I know, I called them for the same question LOL
