Hi, I am NOT TTC, but I have a question that pertains to this subject..I had my first baby in July and I have had three cycles (31 days) in the past three months. I still nurse like 1-2 times a day, but I got my 1st cycle while nursing more than that. Anyway, my husband and I are using nfp until we start TTC again in about a year or so. My last period was March 10 and it was 5 days long. I figured I'd o around the 24-30 or so, so we were careful then, but I didn't notice any egcm or o pains during that time. We dtd April 1 and April 4w/o anything because I thought my period was due and we were in the clear. However, I had a positive opk and tons of egcm on April 5 and 6 along w/ o pain. My cp was high, soft, and open, too. I sort of freaked out because I thought "oh no I am o'ing so late" and we had dtd unprotected twice just before all that happened. Today the opk was negative, and my cp is high, soft, but closing, and my cm is now lotiony not egcm. Did I o this late in my cycle? Also, if I did just o, could I get pregnant from those two times, or would the sperm be dead by then. Can I o and still get my period in three days, or will my period be late now? Sorry, I am so new to this, as my first baby was a surprise and I am just starting to read about my fertility signs now so that we don't get pregnant again just yet (not that itd be terrible, I just would like my first to be a little older if possible). Thanks soooo much!! Oh, also, if the opk was positive that one day and negative the next, did that mean I o'd on that day?

It is very possible that you just may have caught that egg. Af should arrive 10-16 days after o, so you should expect it 4/15-4/21, unless your pg of course.

BF cycles can be any length and can vary each cycle. So yes it is very possible that you could be pregnant. It could also depend on your LP cycle (cycle after "o"). Mine when I "o" late was too short to keep a pregnancy so this might happen as well. I hope for your sake your AF comes close to the date you expect it. My total cycle length stayed pretty much the same no matter when I "o".

Okay, now I am even more confused. So Wednesday I had a positive OPK around 5 or so in the evening. Thursday and Friday at the same time the OPK's were super negative (barely even a second line). Then, this morning, I took an OPK w/ first morning urine and it was posive in less than half a minute. It was so positive that the line was almost black. Did I O again? My cp is now high, firm and closed, so I don't think I am o'ing again based on that..could it be because my period is due tomorrow, would that make it positive? Also, my temp yesterday was 97.7 and today it was 98.0. Normally, my highest temp is 97.7, but most are actually 97.4. Are these all signs of my period coming? Sorry for all the questions, but this is the first time I am actually aware of all of these things, before the baby I was always on the Pill. Thanks so much!

Okay, this is so weird! This morning when I woke up I used my saliva scope but just checked it now (like an hour later) and its full fern! Yesterday it was nothing! Normally, when I am about to o it fades in, this just came out of nowhere like the super positive opk today! So I guess I am about to o again, so I just told DH to pick up some condoms on his way home from the gym..no chances here! But I checked my cp right now and its so high I can barely reach it and its closed tight. Are the positives normal before a period or am I going to o again??

Dh might want to pick up a test with those! To me it sounds like you are pregnant. Those sound like post o temps. Now, it also could be af coming... I always got ferning a day or two before af. Tell us what happens!!

I took an hpt this morning w/ fmu and it was negative. I took another opk w/ fmu today and it was positive. This afternoon I took another opk and it, too, was positive. If I were pregnant, would an opk show positive before an hpt?

Oh and my temp this morning was 97.7. My cervix is firm, closed, and lowish.
