Well,today I am going in for a Level 2 U/S,as my Triple Screen came back that I have a high % of having a Down Syndrome baby(1 in 43)
If this U/S tells me nothing,than it's off to Vancouver for an amnio.I am so stressed right now.I had no sleep last night and have had nothing to eat for at least 20 hours.
So,please send me some good vibes and thoughts.I have had nothing but scares this pg,but I'm hopeful that everything will turn out OK.

Well,
First of all,thank-you for your good thoughts and kind words.I REALLY does help to ease the negativity.
I am measuring about a week off my calculated due date and about 10 days from the due date my dr. calculated.Odd are,I will probably be sent for another triple screen this week.The baby looks fine(from what she could tell) but,she said it's too early to do any anatomy findings.We did get a picture of the little bean and he/she looks perfect to me(but I am biased)
So,we will wait to hear what the doc has to say,but the amnio is on hold until I find out what she wants to do.I know that a lot of the reasons( and my doctor did tell me this)for the false positives are wrongly calculated due dates.So that is what I am hoping,that because we were thinking I was a week farther along than I was,that caused my high positive screen.

I will keep you updated,and thanks again for all your support and good thoughts.

I'll keep you in my thoughts! My doctor didn't even recommend a triple screen because of the high rate of false +. He told me he would do one if I wanted it, but he wouldn't do it otherwise. So hopefully the due date is wrong and that's what made it come back +. Let us know what the dr decides to do.

Glad to hear it's hopefully just the wrong dates. I've heard they can bring false results, too.

Sorry you're so stressed. We had that happen w/ DS. Our high-level u/s came back w/ no signs of Down's, so we chose for forego the amnio. 5 months later, we had our son w/ no Down's. There is a very high false positive rate. Good luck!

{HUGS} That blood screen is only 30% accurate. I bet everyhtign will turn out fine.

With my 1st DS mine was normal and he was born with Down Syndrome, so I did lots of research on the screening. There are so many normal things that can cause it to be off,
With my 2nd two boys we did the screening and the level II, I felt more reassured after the u/s because it can pick up markers for DS.
