How frustrating!

Good for you for sticking up for what you think is best. My dd has just weaned herself from nightime breastfeeding - she was 19 months old when she stopped. We stopped daytime feeds when she was about 14/15 months. I was really lucky that our health visitor (child nurse) was also a breastfeeding councillor, so she thought breastfeeding at night was fine until they were ready to stop. I think myself really lucky to have support like that, because I hear so many stories like yours.
Anyway, what's so great about cow's milk?! I swear doctor's etc. must be paid incentives by dairies, or have shares in them!!

When I started giving dd cow's milk during the day, I found it gave her really bad wind (she was obviously in a lot of pain) so I swapped to goat's milk and she's fine with that. But the doctor's didn't really seem happy about that. Why? Why? Why? There are plenty of people who don't drink cow's milk (my DH hates it) and are absolutely fine. Arghh!
Anyway, as I said good for you for knowing what's best for your ds and for sticking up for yourself and ds. It's just a shame that it sometimes feels like you're constantly defending yourself when it comes to breastfeeding. Wouldn't it be nice if someone said, "Well done. What a great thing you're doing." Well, as your doctor won't say it, I will. Congrats Kristi, you're giving your ds the best start in life
