Default New with some ?s

Hi there! My name is Liz, and I have been TTC baby #2 since January. I have not used birth control, however, since my first was born 28 months ago. He is still BF 3-4 times per day.

My periods are more or less regular at 28 days. I seem to have observed the signs of ovulation and have had sex on what I believe to be the right days...

So my questions are:

1. If I am having regular periods, does this mean I am probably ovulating?

2. If I am ovulating, and my husband is fertile, does this mean that the BFing is probably causing a Luteal Phase Defect?

3. What can be done about this?

4. Just how hard is it to get pregnant while nursing a toddler?

Thanks so much-- liz

Let me see how much I can answer.

1.) If you've been having regular cycles for quite some time (several months) then I would say you are probably ovulatory, but we can't know that for sure unless you chart.

2.) There could be a LP defect, but if you know when you ovulate then you should know how long your LP is. Can you give us an idea of when in your cycle you think you ovulate and what your signs are?

3.) If there is a LP defect, B6 and I think a few other B vitemins are good for making your LP longer.

4.) That's a hard one to answer, b/c every body and ever toddler and every TTC experience are different. If you're having normal cycles though then it shouldn't be any harder than somebody who isn't nursing a toddler.

Hope that helps some. I'm sure there are girls on here who can answer a bit better than I have though.

way easier for us to help if you have a chart...when do you think you O? if its after day 14ish..then with a 28 day cycle...maybe you are having a too short LP...then the b6 will help..more details..more details...I think 12 day lp is about the shortest you want to have...but I forget the details....
