Icon5 New here!

Hi! I'm new here! I just heard about you guys from the BF message board. I just had a baby boy and I want to have another child before my husband leaves again. He is in the military and we have till june of 07. I am currently BF ds who is only 7 weeks old. We are going to start trying again next month. Do you guys have any advise on how to get pregnant whild BFing? Pumping is not an option so far. I can't seem to pump more than an ounce at a time. Thank you for your help!!

Hello Jaime,
Welcome to our board. Many of us on the board are still waiting for AF. I am waiting for my cycles to have a longer LP. The only advise I have is after AF returns is to chart to see what is happening. I have heard lots of women are able to concieve after the babies sleep through the night and are eating solids as long as AF has returned. Good luck!

I just got AF last week and my son has been sleeping through the night off and on for a few weeks. No solids yet though. I've also supplemented with formula on a few occasions which I think is why I started my period.

Good luck to you and welcome!

Hello and welcome! It really depends on how committed you are to bf'ing and if af has come back. When you do become pg there is a chance that your milk can dry up, so that is why a lot of us wait til our baby's are at least 9-10 months, if not older. For myself, I want to make sure Hayden gets at least a year of bf'ing and hoping he continues like his big brother til he's at least 2, pg or not. If af has returned a good lp is needed to sustain a pregnancy, which should be at least 10 days.
Good luck!
