Icon7 Hi! I'm new here and I have a question!

Hi everyone!

I have a 9.5 month old DS that I am still BF. I nurse 3 times a day every 4 hours. I have not had a PPAF so I really don't know what my cycle is doing at this point. DH and I are not officially TTC but we aren't using anything to prevent another pregnancy either. I was wondering how soon after you have ewcm do you actually ovulate? Is it days or weeks? I've been having a lot of discharge for the past month and I think I noticed today that its ewcm. (I've never paid much attention to the consistency of my cm before so I'm guessing its ewcm.) I've also been cramping a lot for the past week. DH and I bd last saturday. I know the sperm can live up to 5 days so I'm wondering if its possible that I will get preggers. Since I haven't had a PPAF its so hard to tell what's going on with my cycle. Thanks in advance for any advice/help you ladies can give me!

If you are cramping, I'd be tempted to do a pregnancy test. I had lots of little cramps when I became pregnant with my son.

Hi and welcome! I usually O the day after my EWCM, I think, but I'm sure it is different for everyone. If you look at my chart (the 2nd one 11-05) you can see that. Your body could just be getting ready to O. My first PPAF I had a little cramping between O and AF. Please keep us updated!

Thanks for replying!

I did take a test this morning and it was a BFN. I'm still cramping and for the past couple of days my nipples have been a little tender/sore when nursing. In all the months that I've been nursing I've never had that problem. Do you think that could be contributed to the fact that AF might be coming soon?

My nipples get sore when I O. It feels just like in the beginning and the latch isn't quite right, but he's been doing it for 9 months and I know the latch is right.

Well I guess it sounds like I might be ovulating soon then. So if I am officially TTC then I better get started on the bd'ing, right? I guess you can say we are TTC. I think we would both be very happy if we were to have another right now. Maybe the bd we did the other night will bring us another blessing!

Becky,
Thanks for the information! I took a peek at your chart. I don't really know what I'm looking at as all of this is new to me but it looks like AF is due pretty soon for you? Hopefully she'll stay away this month!! Good luck!!

Before I got my first PPAF I had ewcm and cramping off and on for a few months. I think my body was gearing up to O but the bf'ing kept it from happening for a few months. I finally did O and got my first PPAF in Nov. Good luck.

So you had cramping and premenstrual symptoms on and off for months before AF finally came? That would explain the cramping and backaches and no AF I had back in November. How long did it take for PPAF to come for you? Over a year? How many months did you have the cramping and ewcm?
Thanks in advance!
