DR will increase Clomid 200mg for one cycle only (it's at the maximun dosage allowed). If it is unsuccessful then I will have to stop TTC with fertility meds until we wean bfing before I can take more fertility meds (that isn't safe while bfing) to TTC baby #2 I'm so sad

it's so difficult to decide over baby #2 and extended bfing relationship with my daughter.. and at the same time I don't want the children age to be far apart between two siblings.

my daughter is a clomid/metformin combo miracle baby... dr thinks I have to do the same combo for future babies as clomid on it's own doesn't work and as I'm bfing it's not working for me.

That's a tough one. Personally, my goal was (and is) to make it to the 1 year mark. I guess you have to look at your BFing relationship...does she rely on it alot? Would it be really hard on you and her to stop BFing at this point? I stopped at 17 months with Logan because I got PG with Lance and my dr wanted me to stop and it was a little hard to do (for both of us) even though he was down to 1-2 times a day. I don't know what to tell you, but do what your heart tells you to do.

Hi there, I don't post here much. I'm also TTC #2 and nursing my 20 month old son. Just did my first IUI and Clomid (didnt' work). I thought that the drugs used for injectables were safe? I base this on what I've read on Thomas Hale's website. Who told you they weren't safe? May I ask which drugs specifically? I think my RE wants me to wean, every problem (like spotting a lot while on Clomid) is blamed on BFing, and he hasn't given my prog. yet, although I"m pushing for it. I've read about lots of women on Clomid who spot a lot, and they aren't all nursing! I simply can't give up the nursing r'ship with the child that may be my only one (I"m 41.5) unless I KNOW it's the cause of not getting pg. I can't bear to deny him comfort that I could give, I've even been taking Sudafed in hopes that it will dry my milk up, I thought that might be easier on him than me refusing to let him nurse. so far, it's not working! Good luck, whatever you decide.

metformin wasn't safe due that it would low my sugar level and also pass in breastmilk and put more risk on baby than we want to do... clomid is safe.. i have no idea about injectables sorry.

I just took 200mg and I did O! no s/e from taking 200mg kinda surprised me.. now i'm in 2ww

oh btw thanks for the reponses and also i don't plan on weaning anytime soon.. i'm down to 1 x day (mornings) and hope to work toward 18mo or so and try to help wean without causing either of us be upset about our bfing relationship... she would get fussy when she was weaning her afternoon session but after couple days she was fine.. she still likes her morning time with me.. I'll stick with it for a bit longer and avoid another august baby will TTC again after the holidays if this cycle isn't for us.
