Ryan used to go sleep a solid 8 hours at night before waking up, and then would need to be fed and he'd go back down again.
Lately, he's been waking up after 6 hours or so and fussing. Should I be letting him CIO for a bit b/c I know that he can go the 8 hours or is he potentially hungry after 6 now and I should go with that? How do I really know if this is going to be a growth spurt of sorts or if I'll be starting a bad new habit?
My first son slept 12 hours straight at 3 months old so this is all new territory for me.
It may be a growth spurt... but I guess I would let him fuss for 10-15 mins before going in, just in case he does go back to sleep.
This is what happened with Megan too - she slept 10p-6a for months, then suddenly it was 5a, 4a, etc. I kept thinking it was a growth spurt, but it never went back to the 10p-6a.
Before the age of nine months old, this is considered "average" for night wakings- Waking six hours after first going to bed, and then every 4 hours after that. Sounds like Ethan is waking at a "normal" time, so it should be perfectly fine to feed him.
