Default not sure if this is the place to ask.....

is this the forum to talk about Babywise? I haven't seen anything on it on this site.. or maybe I missed it..... it doesnt say much about pacifiers....

anyhow, my 9 week old has been sleeping through the night (7 hours) from 9-4am...but she wakes up at 2:30am every night. I put the pacifier back in her mouth and she sleeps until 4am.... is this sabotaging (sp?) her sleep training for the future? she loves her pacifier and uses it to fall to sleep....and she sleeps forever, so I dont want to take it away quite yet....any thoughts? I dont think she really needs it to fall asleep, when I put her down for a nap today she had it in her mouth but after about 15 minutes she started to cry... I let her cry for about 15 minutes and then she was out. I never went back in to put the paci back in her mouth....so maybe I am attached to it more than she is?

No big deal,
I appreciate you replying... alot of people think Babywise is for people who hate their kids and want to "train" them...but I read the book and I think the concept makes alot of sense.. I don't breastfeed so that may be why it works for me...I can see how it might not work for breastfeeding mothers....it may affect their milk supply. But anyhow, I did try not putting her pacifier back in her mouth at night... it works sometimes..she usually will cry for about 10 minutes and then fall back to sleep the rest of the night...she does this at nap time too.... anyhow, it's been a few weeks since I posted this and I think we got it figured out over here finally!!
she is sleeping 9pm-7am...sometimes longer...anyways, thanks again.

I'm doing Babywise too. My 7 week old is sleeping 6-7 hour stretches at night. It's a relief to find someone who is doing the same thing. Sometimes I feel that I'm the only person following this book. My friend recommended it to me, but she has twins. Her twins didn't give her much trouble sleeping 10-12 hours a night, but then again I think it's easier with multiples. Her twins never had trouble napping. My son on the other hand, OMG! He is a very persistent little man. His naps are finally getting easier. Now I'm working on the nighttime sleep. When are you planning having your little one CIO? Or are you hoping your LO will eventually sleep 10-12 hours on her own? My friend let her twins CIO when they were 6 weeks old. They started sleeping 11 hours by the 4th night. So...I started doing this with my LO. The past two nights have been hell. He cries much longer than the book says is normal. So, after quite a bit of crying, I finally went into his room and he was kicking and flailing and completely out of his swaddle. I put him on his tummy (this is how he sleeps during naps), and he finally went to sleep after a little bit more of crying. So, I'm going to try putting him on his belly tomorrow night. Hopefully, this will help. Anyway, I would love to start e-mailing back and forth since we are practicing the same principles from BW.
