nightime wakenings-turning over

I have been CIO almost for two weeks now. It is getting worse not better with time. He wakes up in the middle of the night and turns over to his back by mistake and screems bloody murder until I turn him back then goes right back to sleep. He puts himself to sleep by rocking side to side and rocks too far sometimes. He normally sleeps on his side or tummy. Should I continue to turn him or should I let him figure it out himself. Mind you, he is only two feet away from me. He is 5 1/2 months.

Default Re: nightime wakenings-turning over

Hi, just wanted to let you know that my DD mostly sleeps on her side too and would flip herself over to her tummy and wake up crying. She sleeps in her crib in her room and once I walked in the room and she knew I was there, I felt like I had no choice, but to flip her over. If I'd done nothing & walked out, things would have been worse. DD has known how to roll over both ways for months, but at nighttime, apparently she'd forgotten. After a few weeks, it stopped and now she rolls everywhere and even sleeps on her tummy. Eventually it's something they'll grow out of, in the meantime, I'd practice the sensation of rolling over from front to back and back to front using a blanket so see if he'll start to roll over both ways on his own. Hope things get better for you!
