Sorry you are having such a rough time. We did cio for naps initially and it helped my DD fall asleep on her own and made her naps become more routine. I'd love to say that cio worked at night for us, but it didn't. She always fell asleep on her own, but needed two feedings a night (always at different times) until she was just over 11 months old. When I let her cio at night, she'd just cry and cry until she fell asleep, then wake up just a little while later to do it all over again.

Sorry I don't have more advice for you. Hang in there!

I only use CIO if needed. I don't use the method at naptime or when I put him down for the night. If in the middle of the night DS wakes up I go in to comfort him not picking him up and spend about 5-10 min in the room with him.

This does not always work and that it when I let him cio. Ty used to cry forever also. Now his crying has gone from an hour to 40min or less. Just stick in there eventully he'll get tired of always screaming and will learn to settle himself down.
