Icon4 Flat Spot...Please Help!

I have tried to get my three month old to sleep on his side at night but he screams until I put him on his back. He now has a flat spot on his head where he wants to lay that way. (It is a big flat spot.) And now his head looks a little funny. What can I do to fix this.

I dont want to let him sleep on his tummy because he want to lay face down in to the bed. I am scared he will smother himself. I have tried letting his head be on a pillow while he sleeps.

Any advice would be great. I am a first time mom.

If you're worried about the flat spot, call your doctor. But at night and for naps, put your baby to sleep on their back. It's the safest position for your little one. During the day however, try to give your baby some more tummy time so they are not always on their back.

You need to lay baby on its back to sleep. You can carry the baby throughout the day and do tummy time to prevent more flattening. Have you tried turning his head after he is asleep. I know with my kids I could reposition them and they wouldn't wake up, I would turn their head a little to the side. You might want to check with your doctor. I think they have those positioning things that have a little hole/space where the head goes to help prevent flat spots, have you tried one of those?
