Icon7 back with a nap question! :)

Hi all! I haven't been around in a while...sleeping going well!

Here is my question...I started weaning Ryan this week. No nursing before nap time anymore, just straight into the crib (he was going into crib awake when I was nursing him so this isn't that new). Today is the 4th day. Well, yesterday and today for his am nap (he takes a morning and an afternoon one still and goes to bed at 6pm) he rolled around for an hour. He didn't sleep at all, just played, rolled around and cried some here and there. I took him out after an hour. Well, he took his afternoon naps ok, but was cranky after them.

Does this sound like it is related to weaning or is he just transitioning to one nap (i hope not! lol! that am nap is my shower time!)

Any info would be great! Thanks ladies!! Hope all of you and your babies are doing great!!!

Kelly and Ryan (just turned 14 months)

Default Re: back with a nap question! :)

It's probably related to weaning, because he's used to having the nursing before naps, it's a sleep association. Now he is learning to sleep without it. I would think in a couple of weeks (or less) from when you started putting him down without nursing, he should be back on track. If not, you may want to reevaluate his awake times. He will most likely be down to one nap a day by 18 months old.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask .
