When will he start signing?

We've been watching Baby Signing Time and doing general signs (Thank you, eat, finished, more, milk, etc) since 4mo... He can clap, kiss, and wave... but I have yet to see him use a sign... when will he start signing? DH is thinking this is a bunch of bull and I've wasted our money...
