My names Jenn and I have a 2.5 month old daughter. I've been looking into signing to her and also taking some courses myself at the local college. Just wanted to say "" to you ladies!

Hi! I am NEW here as well! I've been on the Born in June board since my little guy was born (and was on the Due in June board before that) - and its a great message board.

You just have a little one? Born in September? That's great! Congrats!! My little guy was actually born about a month early, May 30th - so is closing in on six-months. I am really working hard on the signing now - but he looks at me like I've lost something...like my mind! LOL.

Have you signed up for the classes yet? I've just been learning from a DVD - although I hear there are some DVD's for the babies to watch as well.

We have the Baby Signing Time DVDs and they are pretty good. She's entertained by them and I learn the signs by watching too.

Hi Alicia! Cadence is such a sweetie! Love that costume...Sounds like she and Erik are only about 11 days apart!

I can't wait to see my first sign...it looks like he is just starting to process the thought that maybe he should be doing something...I will say that he doesn't seem too happy about learning something when he is hungry! I usually put him up in his Bumbo seat while I am making his bottle and I tell him I am making milk and make the milk sign about 1/2 dozen times before I'm done...

I need to look into those DVDs....which ones do you recommend?

There are Baby Signing Time and regular Signing Time DVDs. For the Baby ones, there are only 2 and we have them both. They are for under 2 years I think. The regular ones are for a little older I think, and there are lots of them, but we don't have those.

Alicia-- I have the baby signing time dvd's aswell and just love them! I'm still on the first dvd but I've learnt a lot from watching them. I haven't signed up for the courses in ASL BUT I'm hoping that I can get in for the winter semester!
