Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jamie, a SAHM to Ian who is 4 months old. My DH is in the Army, currently stationed in the Gulf for flight school.

I have always been interested in learning ASL for myself, but since I had a boy and their language skills typically take longer to develop, I became even more interested in the sake of sanity in our house.

We are currently watching, singing and practicing the signs from Baby Signing Time, the first two DVD's exclusively for infants.

We're interested in learning much more and would love feedback from everyone!

Welcome! Your baby and DH are too cute!

Have you taken a class? That can really help you get started and meet other parents in your area that are signing with their babies. Check out the presenters on www.sign2me.com for a list of classes in your area.

My baby is almost 3 months old and has just started signing "milk" when she wants to nurse. It is so exciting to have her signing!

Feel free to ask any questions and pm me if you need to.

Hi Jaime! welcome! I lurk here and occasionally post when I can. But since having Garrett I really have my hands full. The more you get into ASL the more youll love it and its amazing the first time your son signs something.

My name is Sarah. I am a SAHM to Hunter who is 2 years old (well July 8th he will be) and Garrett who is 2 months old.
Hunter currently signs "More", "want" and "drink" and he will pant (like a dog) for dog. weve been practing on milk but for some reason he just thinks that sign is funny. He always has since weve started teaching him sign language.
Its nice that Hunter can sign when he wants a drink or wants more instead of throwing a fit. We started teaching him signs when he was about 8 months old maybe...but then stopped for a little while but we are now picking it back up.
well good luck! feel free to ask any questions and feel free to PM..Id be glad to help!
cant wait to get to know you and Ian
