Default "Milk" vs "Nurse"

I was wondering if there is a separate sign for "nurse" instead of "milk". We have been using "milk", but I wonder if that might be confusing when she is a little older to differentiate between milk in a cup and mommy milk. Maybe when she's older we can just sign "mommy" "milk" and "cup" "milk" or something like that? What do others do?

We are just using "milk" for "nurse" right now. I would probably do as you suggest later. I don't plan on introducing cows milk for quite sometime. (my dd is 11 months old) By the time I do introduce it, maybe my DD will have started using her own word for mommy's milk and that will solve my problem. LOL

DD does use the sign for "milk" (I call it nursie) but she uses it for anything she wants right now. If she wants to nurse she uses it, if she want more yogurt she uses it, if she wants her sister's doll she uses it. LOL

We just used milk to mean any kind of milk. If it was nursing time, she was nursed, if it was a sippy time, it meant sippy. There didn't seem to be any confusion on my daughter's part. HTH!

Mine sign "milk" and then pat their chest to one side.

AJ signs for milk meaning milk in a cup. Neh Neh is for nursing or she pulls down on the neck of my shirt.
