Here are some important information about the Baby Signs Program by Dr. Linda Acredolo and Dr. Susan Goodwyn.

What are Baby Signs?

They are simple gestures your baby can use before your baby has any words.
Gestures like touching thumb to lips for drink or fingertips to mouth for food or holding fist to ear for phone


Baby Signs and American Sign Language

Baby Signs incorporate the most useful, “baby friendly” signs from ASL and combines them with signs that babies and parents have created themselves and found particularly useful.
Baby Signs uses symbolic gestures to enhance verbal interactions with a baby.


The Baby Signs® Parent Workshop Fee: $50

Is designed to last between 2-3 hours and will provide personalized attention to you as you learn to Baby Sign. This workshop focuses on signing and speaking with your infant or toddler and will teach you everything you need to know to begin using Baby Signs immediately.
Each participant gets the Parent Starter Kit.

This workshop is not only a great educational opportunity, but doubles as an entertaining get-together! Although the workshop is designed to be for parent and child, it can be for adult participants only.


The Parent Workshop Kit includes

•Baby Signs: How To Talk With Your Baby Before Your Baby Can Talk (New Edition; 194 pages)•Welcome to the Baby Signs® Program-an informative video for parents featuring an introduction by the founders, footage of signing babies and practical tips for getting started (VHS format). •My Bedtime Signs video featuring state-of-the-art animation, playful puppets and adorable signing babies (DVD format).Quick Reference Guide - a laminated tri-fold card with 67 useful signs for easy use at home or on the go

The Sign, Say and Play™ Class Fee: $125

Is a series of 6 classes (45-minutes/class). These classes focus on signing, and speaking to enhance language and cognitive development with your infant/toddler during playtimes. Each participant will receive the Sign, Say and Play Starter Kit! Participants will be shown how to introduce and use these signs on a daily basis and the common progression of sign reproduction in children.
During each class, we will introduce an activity to reinforce the signs and will learn to sing and sign a song related to the topic of the day. Additional signs will be introduced for use in the songs


The Sign, Say and Play™ Kit includes:

•My Mealtime Signs video featuring state-of-the-art animation, playful puppets and adorable signing babies (DVD format).
My First Fun Signs cloth book with colorful illustrations featuring the Diaper Doodles™- the Baby Signs® babies.
My More Fun Signs cloth book for even more signing fun!

Thanks for sharing! I have taken a look at the baby signs website and I have an email in to the home office looking for information about becoming an instructor, I think it would be so much fun!
