Hi everyone...new to this board, but not the SK forums...usually I can be found on the cloth diapering board or the Dec 2004 board (I see some familiar faces here...Hi Tiah and Lisa!)

Anyway, I am Jen, mama to Mairi Elizabeth (aka Choofy) and I have been signing with her since she was born. She is now 7mths old.

I was a professional nanny for 5+ yrs before I had her, and I did sign with my former charges, and it worked so well I knew I had to do it with my own child!

Mairi has been doing the sign for milk since 5.5 mths (she is so cute, she nurses and then signs "milk milk milk" over and over!) Also we have a nursing song we sing, with signs.

The other signs we use are:
kitty
doggie
papa
mama
grandma
more
food
eat
drink


So far, she has done kitty a couple of times (we have 2 cats that she LOVES) and she did papa once when DH was talking to her on the phone. Just this week she started doing "more", it's SO cute!
