Default Thanksgiving Meal Question

What food item does your family just have to have on the table to make it a good Thanksgiving meal?

My family, it is the family salad. It's called Christmas Fruit Salad, but we have to have it for both Thanksgiving and Christmas to make the holidays feel complete! And for both my side and Dh's side, there has to be the jellied cranberry sauce on the table.

I'm going to tell my oldest that if he wants the salad, he has to make it He's made it before and it turned out pretty good, too!!

So, what makes the meal for you all?

Peace!
Nancy S.

We can not have a Thanksgiving meal without green bean casserole. I took over making this dish from my mother last year and will make it again this year. I found this slightly different recipe on better.tv that I'm going to try. It uses caramelized onions on top and looks delicious. I think I might make it this week just to try it out before Thanksgiving day.
