That's an understatement, really. Matthew is just over 2 years old and he DESPISES vegetables.
This loathing happened about five or six months ago. He literally will writhe in pain at the sight of them getting close to his mouth. It's not your normal - put it in the mouth, it's icky, spit it out - thing. You can't get them NEAR his mouth to even see if he'll like it or hate it.
What he does eat: Meat - he LOVES meat. And bread. Cereal. Bananas. Cheese. Cottage Cheese occasionally. Applesauce every other week. Beans - like navy or kidney. LOVES kidney beans and baked beans. Will eat peas and lima beans too. And french fries. Spaghetti. PIZZA (cheese or peps - no veggies).
He won't eat sweet potatoes. He won't eat carrots glazed with brown sugar. RARELY will he try mashed potatoes. Broccoli, Cauliflower, zucchini - BLECH. He won't eat them. He'll eat pickles but not cukes.
I'm at my wits end. Does anyone have any creative ways to sneak veggies into food? I've pureed carrots to put in pizza sauce for pizza. I've tried to cook up some veggie breads and muffins. (They didn't turn out well.)
I just want to make sure he's getting his nutrition. He used to love veggies and eat everything all the time. This is just getting frustrating!
