Default Stevia for diabetics

I just found this new sweetener with no glycemic index and thought I'd share it with you all! Being a diabetic and a sweet tooth has been tough but I recently stumbled upon the Stevia plant. It's a naturally sweet plant that is purified and turned into a sweetener. There are lots of different varieties but the one I like best so far is SweetLeaf Sweetener. After doing a little research I found that SweetLeaf also has no calories and no carbs too! I've been substituting the sweetener into recipes and drinks and it works surprisingly well! I just make sure to add filler substances like mashed bananas or yogurt into the recipes to make up for the lost volume of sugar. Such a treat to find something sweet that I can actually eat!

Also, I think they have some videos on YouTube about the process of making the sweetener if anyone's interested. Just search SweetLeaf Sweetener. Enjoy!
