Default Easy Ways to make cookies "Fancy"

Do you need to take cookies somewhere and want them to look extra special?
You do not have to be an expert baker to make your cookies look wonderful.

Baked sugar cookies (your favorite recipe or slice and bake)

*Easy Glaze Mix
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp of your favorite flavoring (Almond, peppermint, vanilla)
water added to make a thin glaze
You can tint the glaze any color if desired.

Or 1 cup of your favorite vanilla frosting microwaved for 1 minute.
Then add flavoring.
Use a pastry brush to paint on the cookies (very fast!!)
Put any sprinkles on your cookies while wet to help them stick.

*Easy Decorating
Put 1 cup of your favorite frosting in a zip lock bag. Snip a tiny end off of the bag corner to pipe frosting. Lay your sugar cookies side by side as close as you can on waxed paper. Run the piping over the cookies back and forth from one end of the row to the other. This will make a zebra type stripe on the cookies. (I made round cookies, glazed them with a red almond flavored glaze, then put white stripes over them! Sprinkled white sugar over that to make them look very pretty.)

*Chocolate stripes
Put 1 cup of chocolate chips in a zip lock. Place in hot water until melted.
Follow directions above to make stripes across cookies or cakes.
(works with any chips, chocolate, white, butterscotch ect.)
(This looks wonderful on chocolate covered pretzel rods. Use the white on chocolate dipped and chocolate on white dipped)

*Chocolate shavings:
Put 1/2 cup in a had held grater or 1 candy bar on stand up grater to make chocolate shavings to sprinkle on cookies. Yummy and pretty.
