How to fix chicken for chicken ceasar salad?

At my house, we love chicken ceasar salads, but the chicken never tastes as good as when we get it at Applebees.

I tried marinating it in italian dressing and then grilling it but I didn't like the taste of that.

Does anyone know the secret to getting that chicken to taste great in the salad?
