My 17mo son is on a fat free diet due to a recent stay in the hospital for Chylothorax and cannot have but .5g of fat 2 times a day, all the rest has to be 0g total fat.

I am looking for more recipes so that he is not eating the same things all the time. It would be nice to have something that the rest of my family could eat too, I have a 4yo and 3yo and one due in 8w.

Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't know about fat free recipies, I think everything has a little fat. But I have some low fat ideas.

- Spaggetti with tuna is low fat;
- Chicken hamburgers with veggies
- Turkey breast with salad
- there are a lot of fish dishes that are low fat
- and of course soups

If you need the actuall recipies just say so, I'll come up with something.

If he will eat fish, grilled fish is always a good option..

You could make him smoothies with fruit and fat free milk or yogurt (1 banana, 1/4 cup of orange juice, 3 T of honey, 1.5 cup frozen berries, 1 cup fat free yogurt....blend up in blender).

Poor guy, that's gotta be tough.

I went to Recipes & Home Cooking Tips | Taste of Home Magazine clicked on the recipe tab, then entered low fat and fat free in the search box. Here is the link to the fat free recipes. Recipe Search | Taste of Home Even found a vanilla pudding that is 1g fat and sounds yummy!
